Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

Juicy strawberries dipped in glossy dark chocolate with a white-chocolate drizzle.
Ingredients
| Volume | Grams |
|---|---|
| 1 lb strawberries, with stems, washed and completely dry | 454 g |
| 6 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped | 170 g |
| 1 tsp coconut oil, or vegetable oil | 4.1 g |
| 2 oz white chocolate, chopped, optional | 57 g |
Gram weights use the King Arthur Baking ingredient weight chart; amounts given in lb or oz are converted by weight (1 lb = 453.6 g, 1 oz = 28.35 g). Measure flour by spooning it into the cup and leveling, or better, weigh it.
Method
- Line a sheet pan with parchment. Make sure the berries are completely dry; any water makes chocolate seize.
- Melt the semisweet chocolate with the oil in 20-second microwave bursts, stirring between, until smooth.
- Hold each berry by the stem, dip, let the excess drip off, and set on the parchment.
- Melt the white chocolate and drizzle over the berries with a fork.
- Chill 20–30 minutes until set. Best eaten the same day.
Tips
- Room-temperature berries give fewer 'sweat' beads than cold ones.
